Joining ACORN Partners In Education

I'm very pleased to report that I've been appointed to the board of directors of a local non-profit, Acorn Partners in Education. Their goals, as reflected on their website:
We promote and support innovative, high-quality educational programs and projects for Mendocino County.
Since I now live in Mendocino County, and work with the Charter school a little bit through my partner, I thought this would be an excellent way to give back a little bit - and to get to know the community a little better to boot.
They focus on experimental, cross-cultural, performing arts, and appropriate technology education in particular, which sounds awesome to me. The education/arts scene in this area is what drew us to begin with, so having a hand in improving that aspect of my community is pretty exciting!
